Fire Inspections

Safety Tips
  1. Know all the exits from your home.
  2. Identify two ways out of each room, in case of fire; designate a meeting place outside could be the mailbox, a tree, or the sidewalk.
  3. The smell of smoke will not wake you up.
  4. Try to put small fires out with a fire extinguisher. If you can't put the fire out in 30 seconds, call 911.
  5. Check and test your smoke detectors monthly.
  6. 80% of house fires start at night while people sleep.
  7. Most fire fatalities occur due to an asphyxiation due to smoke and super heated gases, not flames.

What the Home Inspection Program Offers
We will check your smoke detectors your fire alarms, and fire extinguishers. We will do a walk through of the inside of your home, check the exits, kitchen of the home where the family gathers. We will check to determine if you and your family know how to get out of the house in the event of a fire. We will help you develop an escape plan that will work for your family. We will check the outside of your house to be sure that the address is visible. During the inspection we can identify any hazards, specific to your house, that might pose a problem to the firefighters such as burglar bars. If you are interested in the Home Inspection for your family protection please call us and schedule a time for us to come. We would be glad to do this service at no charge to you.
Our Fire Department

Wants to reduce the number of fires, and in turn the number of injuries and fatalities that occur as result of residential fires. To do this we are offering the Home Inspection Program. The inspections are performed by State Certified Firefighters who will visit your home, do the inspection, and offer suggestions to reduce the risk of fire to your family and your home. There is no fee for this service.
